Introduction

Welcome to Jupyter Notebook Basics!

This self-paced training course will introduce you to Jupyter Notebook. No prior knowledge is required for this course though we do assume you have access to Jupyter Notebook through either installing Anaconda on your personal computer or using Google CoLab. Please refer to the free “INSTALLING ANACONDA ON A PERSONAL COMPUTER” course if you need assistance.

The learning objectives for this course are listed below:

  • Identify applications for Jupyter Notebooks
  • Demonstrate use of Jupyter Notebooks

To begin, I recommend taking a few minutes to explore the course. You will see the course is divided into several shorter modules. Modules typically have at least one short video and supplemental handout to familiarize you with the course material. There are also assessments which you will need to finish to complete this course – quizzes and Jupyter Notebooks. Finally, you will create a Github account to share your Jupyter Notebook with others. Please review the material covered in each module and preview any assessments you’ll need to complete the course.
